I am working on my general structural notes by typing my text in a drafting view and then placing the drafting view on sheets.

seems easy and simple enough but i have run into a problem and could use some input.

when i type a paragraph and use tabs or spaces to create indentions the paragraph structure doesnt seem to remain stable.

for example:
if i try to edit a paragraph that was already created sometimes the indentions will stay as intended and sometimes the indentions change and have to be re-adjusted.

i cant figure out a rhyme or reason for when it does this, but its driving me crazy......

is there a better way to be doing the gsn's???

any help is always appreciated...

I'll never understand why Autodesk does nothing to improve this aspect of Revit. I often do my text in AutoCAD and import the dwg into a drafting view.

We encountered the same problem.

What I think is causing it but don't know for sure (actually more a stab in the dark) is how it's calculating the width of each character or space, and what happens it that sometimes the text is long enough to bump it to the next tab, which shifts the whole line of text. Other times its not.

What I found was that it is dependent on extents of the view when you enter the text editor. If you enter the text editor from the same zoom factor then things won't move. Say the first time you edit text you are zoomed out far, then next time you edit the text you are zoomed way in the text will reshuffle itself around.

i think you are correct about the zoom scale. the farther you zoom in or out the text editor seems to increase or decrease the width of the 'tabs' used or the indentions.

thanks for the input..
