Needless to say we (here at my firm) didn't put much forethought into the outcome.

Our firm uses Microstation, ACAD ADT, and all 3 Revit systems. Depending on who is working on a project, depends on which platform we use (Not the desired output the customer desires, which would be the right way)

We have one Architect who refuses to use anything but Revit (with much respect I can understand why) His boss (a principle) is so gungho about Revit that he supports this architects wishes and backed him up. Now I am just a worker bee and have to clean up everyones mess.

NOW TO MY QUESTION:
(sorry for the long intro. but sometime knowing why something is helps)

We have a project that has to go out in ACAD with the base sheets attached to the sheet file. AEC CADD Standard

example: afp-01 into A-101

But what I am experiancing is each sheet (A-101, A-102) creates it's own independant referance file.

Is there away to export from Revit so there is only one base file and all sheets feed of that base file? As in Govenment ACAD standards.

My fear is that we will have to basicly piece together all the files to make a full ACAD working set of drawings.

How do you guys export to ACAD to create standard set of working drawings?

Thanks

Always learning the hard way.

There is NO way to export revit so it creates a file system like you would have had in autocad. All the views can be individual xrefs. Exporting is for backgrounds, not for workable cad files.

Thanks for the reply, my fears are now confirmed.

We do all our drawings in Revit so there is usually no need to export except for consultants.
