The following is a message I get when I try to edit an image using Raster Design 2008, been using raster 2008 for a while and often, and this is the first for me.
*The image or images that you are trying to edit cannot be edited.*
After opening details it states: *different x and y scale.*
Any suggestions? or have you ever seen this before?

I don't know why it corrupted, but sometimes, you can erase & detach the image, then re-insert it & it will come in like it should.

I did try that including shutting down entirely and restarting. I tried a different image and still same deal. But there are some files that will work???? so a reinstall will not solve my problem.

Sounds like the correlation is off a little, are you using the quick insert or the insert wizard to insert the image? You might try doing a saveas/export after the insertion and create a new correlation.

If you are using the 3 point affine method to transform the image during insertion, you will get different x and y scale factors on the image. To get an image that you can edit, use the True (pixel by pixel) transform type. Be careful, because the True (pixel by pixel) method may take a long time (hours) when inserting sid images.
The other option is to modify the image in a drawing that is using the same coordinate system as the image. Then you won't need to transform.

Thanks for the replies, it seems that a fix is to rubbersheet the image file and it corrects it. The only problem is that it is not a consistent error, therefore work arounds are always good.
