Hi All,

I've got a little issue with a CTB file I just received from a client.

The file is named " -normal.ctb " .... yes, that's a dash and then the word "normal". It works fine in Acad 2004 but does not get recognized in Acad 2002 (which the majority of our staff use).

Are there file naming restrictions for CTB files in 2002 but not 2004 or might there be something else going on??

Thanks in advance,

Rick

I think that dash is only serving as a place holder
so that particular CTB file appears at the top of the
list when selecting which CTB to use.
Try making a copy of it with a different name and try it.
You may find it easier to get the details of the 2004 CTB
and just create one from scratch for your 2002 users.

CTB files between 2004 & 2002 can not be shared.
2004 CTB files are a different format from 2002 CTB files.
Just like the DWG files or MNU files between 2004 & 2002.

Sorry guy.

Hi

Do you have some information on this matter / subject ?

Only ask as we here use AutoCAD 2002 & 2004, everyone points to the same CTB files (created within AutoCAD 2000i or 2002 or 2004) and we've never!!! experienced any issues or problems relating to Plot Style Tables.

Have a good one, Mike

We use both here and we have this issue with all our support files.
We needed to setup 2 directories.

Mike,
Are you sure about that?
I'd be interested in your settings which accomplish this ....

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Printer Support File Path (under Options) point to the same Network locations for both AutoCAD 2002 & 2004 (use exactly the same files).

The only issue / problem we really came up against (Apart from the Windows XP Roaming Profile Support Directory compliance with AutoCAD 2004) was the following -

AutoCAD 2004 menus will corrupt 2000i menu file (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=4451)

Customized menus (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=5033)

Have a good one, Mike

How do you handle the PC3 files?
Do you use the same PC3 files for both as well?
