Good day everyone,
I wanted to know if i have to show the progress in construction of a building as every level is competed how can this be done using the phasing method.so that each level of the building can be subcategorized in different phases as and when the level is completed.

Is it possible for u to just write down the steps of creating phases for the levels created ,i tried doing it but all the walls even of the new construction are grey in colour. i don't know why?

Try this:

Set up your phases under settings/phases. At the same time set up a phase filter to reflect what you want to see in the view in any particular phase. Sounds like in your case you only want to see the stuff in that phase, so set it up that way (or you can use the default filters).

In any view, select the items you want in a particular phase, go to view properties, and change their "phase created" to that phase.

When done open the view you want to see for instance the foundation. Set the phase to "foundation", and that phase filter to your new phase filter. You should now see only the items (foundation) in that phase.

Duplicate the view, then set the duplicated view's phase to the next phase. Rename the views to keep them organized, i.e. so that the names relate to what's seen in the phase.

Continue this process until you've gone through all the phases.

You can now export or render & export the views / images & use them however you want, i.e., Powerpoint presentation or whatever...
