The preceding post caused me to think of this again...

I wish Keynotes would work like this. Ability to add / alter keynote text file from within Revit - essentially some kind of duplex communication with the text file. Also ability to have an instance parameter in a Keynote object, so the default text file entry is displayed, and I can display a text modifier that I craft on the fly.

Seems to me this should be OOTB functionality. These issues make keynotes unusable for my office, and as far as I can tell, keynotes have been ignored for at least two releases. (Not to discount all the other good stuff, I'm just dying for better keynotes!)

Agree with you 100%. The current implementation is like something a programmer hacked together over his lunch break. Revit is a database-driven program, so why isn't keynote data in a database so it can be used in an intelligent manner?

Go post it as a wishlist item in the Wishlist forums.

I haven't used keynotes yet, because it's typically 'un-Revit'. How does it work and what can it do for me?
We have however experimented with Assembly Codes, which gets it's data from a workstation specific textfile with codes and descriptions. Attempts are being made to adapt it in such way that it complies with our other software.
