In Revit is it possible to import a linked spread sheet.

I would like to have a linked spread sheet containing an index sheet

Of consultant drawings – as they will not be using revit.

Or is there a better way to have the index updated pretty easy

By a non revit user.

Thanks

Short answer, no....

Long answer - you can do it via AutoCAD. Link the Excel into AutoCAD - Then link the AutoCAD into Revit. A kludge but it sorta works.

Then there is the API, but this requires a 3rd party app:

Better yet, just make "dummy sheets" in Revit for all your consultants.
Put them in your Project template. .rte file-then they will load into all new projects.
The consultants sheets will appear in your List of Sheets/Cover Sheet etc.

This has been discussed here before-do a search for consultants sheets.

The xltorefit works because it makes a dxf of the excel spread sheet and imports that into Revit. You can do this yourself with ACAD as Aaron mentioned. The plugin just automates the process.
