No arrows on ramps

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting arrows to show up on ramps. They only appear once the ramp itself is selected. In the attached screenie, the top ramp is selected and the lower one is not. How can I make them show?

Also, I would prefer if the ramps were only labled UP but if I deselect the down option in the parameters screen I am left with nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Ramps don't work very well.

I use a floor slab with a slope arrow and then place a spot level with a horizontal leader to give the direction and slope height.
