Hi,
this issue is driving me crazy and I hope someone can shed some light on this matter (factory??)
We have a site file with a few buildings linked in. All the linked buildings are using shared coordinates, all was working fine untill...
one particular building I can't select by clicking, I have to draw a massive selection box and use the filter, I can't snap to anything in the linked file (I have control of all worksets). The building keeps on moving! if I move it to the shared coordinates location it goes to the wrong place, if i do it again, it moves into another random location every time!
Another issue is the Project Info that now, for some reason is not being relinquished when saving to central, even though the option is selected.
is this a bug? is the factory aware of this issue?
I'm just running out of ideas on this one :(

Are Worksets enabled? If soo look at the workset that one builing is on, versus the others. In the Mange Links dialog of the site file, is its path set to realtive/versus Absolute, meaning is it different than the others, and is it an overlay versus the other setting, ie differeent than the rest? I have seen issues before when these did not match

Try linking local files rather than the central file.

Thanks for the input guys.
the challenging issue is the fact that there is no logic to the problem.
turns out that BEFORE you link the file, you must own the workset it's going to be on, changing the workset later does not mean you will be able to select the linked file.
the shared coordinates keeps on changing, I still see no reason for that.
why linking the local files is better than central in this case (looking for the logic again...)
This problems accrues in 2 different projects in 2 different offices.
so now, my locations are not shared until we get to the bottom of this problem.
FACTORY, could this be a bug?
thanks,

Sorry I have no help for the selectability issue; however my thought is that the strategy of linking local rather than central files may help resolve the shared coordinate issue.
When a linked shared coordinate file is repositioned, the project info Workset of the Central file is made editable. If Project Info is “checked out” by another user, an error message is displayed.
If nothing else, this methodology may point to which user is moving the link.

Not sure about the Link moving around, but this

might be a clue as to why things aren't relinquishing.
A Link can end up on two different Worksets. The Main Link itself is on a Workset, and the Instance might be on a different Workset. Select the Link and check both the Instance and the Type Properties.

We are having our 2010 teams encounter the same error. Revit does not relinquish control of the "Project Info" workset in the file receiving the publish of shared coordinates. I had to go into the linked file relinquish it (make editable no) then the dialog stopped.. until this morning when it happened again. Is there a fix for this?
