I have 2 existing rooms, separate by a wall, with 2 doors on each side of the wall into each room. I need to demolish those 2 doors on that wall to make 1 big room, but I also would like to put the new door centered where that wall was.

So when I demolish the doors and the wall, I'm left with 2 pieces of infill wall at the old door locations, with about 1 foot of existing wall in between. I can get a new door to cut that existing wall and 1 of the infill walls from the old door, but I can't get the door to cut the other infill piece.

I have tried embedding small piece of wall and hosting the door with that piece of wall. Doing that I can get the new door to cut that piece of wall, as well as both new infill wall pieces, but then that 1 foot piece of existing wall is left in the middle of the door opening.

Any other solutions?

Its ugly, but here is what i do in those situations:

Where i need to demo the doors, ill edit the profile of the wall, so the wall DOESNT include where those doors are. Then ill place seperate pieces of wall in those locations, and host the existing doors in them. Ill demo the wall and the doors, and then have a wall created in the new phase. Its less complicated to do it than to type it, since its just copying and pasting a few sketches.

its clunky and stupid, but it circumvents the goofy behavior of *infilled door* wall pieces... Then, when you place the door in the center piece, it SHOULD let you Join geo and cut the other two new walls. obviously i have them all set to disallow join for this to work, or it goes apeshit real quick...
