Hey!

I wonder if there is a way to change the reinforcing bars database in ASD after I have generated automated reinforcement drawings to an element from Revit (via the extension). To be able to use the Revit extension it is required to have bar_REX.mdb to be set as the reinforcing bars database in ASD, but it lacks of correc steel grades. After having an element placed in ASD it won't let me change the database anymore.

Thanks in advance!
Martin

No, you can not.
After you have placed even one rebar its locked. You can only change the display options.

So change everything you want before and save it as a template and under options make it your default template- thats the way to do it.

I tried to use my custom template, but all I got was a Revit Extension Error. So finally I took the standard template that the extension is using and only changed the reinforcement bars databes in there, but I still got the same error.

Then I tried to modify the bar_REX database that the extension is using, but I don't have MS Access installed on my PC. So I found a way to modify it under ARSA Job Options, I added the bars I needed. Using the modified database there was no error with the extension, but for some reason my modified bars didn't show up in ASD, only "Revit Steel" was available in the menu.

I wonder if there is a civilised way to get it right or am I doing some mistakes somewhere?
