Contour Labeling & Data Shortcuts

If you have contour labeling on your surface and then data shorcut that surface into another drawing do the contour labels display? MIne do not. If they are to be displayed anybody have any ideas why they are not? All my layers are on, I've set contour label line visibility to on and off.

Surface labels do not come along with data shortcuts.

Once you create the data shortcut, you need to create whatever labels you want in this particular drawing.
