Hello all

I've been trying to create a Sheet Creation Template using the process that I found here in the forum by Glen Pope. I followed all the steps and everything went smoothly, except when I select New Sheet from the SSM, in the Select Layout dialog box, it does not default to the template file I have created. Is this how it should work, to have to browse for it? The properties for the SSM are pointing to the file, and Prompt for Template is yes. What am I missing?

I also noticed a template support path in the options and have set it to the same template file with no luck.

Could someone help shed some light this?

Thanks

The properties for the SSM are pointing to the file, and Prompt for Template is yes.
Shouldn't this be NO so that you will stop needing to Browse for the template file?

I have figured out some more of this thing. If you set Prompt for Template off it will go for the default set in the Sheet Set properties. I thought that if you used several different layout and titleblock that you used, Prompt for Template had to be on to be able to select them. Well if you use the sub-sets, you can set the default layout for each subset in there properties. So setting Prompt for Template to off and using subsets for different layouts, you should get things the way you want.

Thanks for responding Mike and Glenn.

Your additional information does work Glenn. Thanks.

After some digging myself, I also found this:
Under Options there are support paths for the SSM under Templates. Setting the Default for Sheet Creation and Overrides path doesn't appear to do anything for the SSM. If I set the Drawing Template path to the sheet creation template, then when I create a new sheet (from SSM), I still have to browse, but it points to the correct directory of the template file and I can then select one of the layouts in the file.

Overlook, bug, unfinished area by Autodesk?

Hope they can work this out

Thanks again
