Within our school board environment we have installed our Ministry of Education Licensed version of AutoCad LT 2007 on our academic workstations. Under normal circumstances the application, when launched would show a verifying license dialog box. If the online verification is successful the application would open up. If unsuccessful we would have to retrieve the activation code online.
Also within our environment we have a network firewall setup to filter incoming and outgoing traffic. With our firewall policies set as they are the online verification process halts and we have to retrieve the activation code online. This can be a pain when needing to be performed on a very large number of systems within our environment.
When we disable the firewall filter policies completely the verification process proceeds as normal and the application works. We obviously cannot have our filter policies disabled so we have tried to determine the necessary IP's and ports needed to allow the successful verification of the license info. We have located a few of IP's and ports in our firewall logs (related to AutoDesk) that we have already determined to be open for connection.
We seem to be missing that key piece of the puzzle (whether IP's, ports, application, etc) that can be allowed through the firewall and thus allow the verification of the license info online.
Would anyone of an idea what we need? I can post the firewall log if anyone needs to see it.
Thanks in advance.
