stairs shadows in floor plan

shodows of stairs show up a bit strange in the floor plan, is there a way to turn the shadows off for stairs?

How about selecting the stair object & then overriding it to transparent?

where do you control this setting from?
(I can change this for text but how do you do it for stairs)

right click it and go to "Override graphics in view"->By Element and select transparent. Or to do all stairs at once, go to visibility and graphics (VV or VG), scroll down to stairs, and check transparent (the column 2nd from the right side).
