I have been having issues with plotting pdf's. Currently I am using the out of box dwg to pdf.pc3 file to plot pdf's. Both the pc3 and pmp files are located on the server and each machine's plot file paths are mapped to the same folder on our network however I am the only one able to plot pdf's. If I open up the pc3 on my machine via the page setup manager everything is normal and the correct pmp file is present. But, if I open the same file on another machine none of the specified settings are set and no pmp file is present. Also if I try to plot autoCAD can not find the correct pc3 file and prompts me to select the appropriate pc3. It is here that I discovered the pc3 file is not the same as it is on my machine despite being located on the network. Hope this wasn't too confusing and any help would be great.

One problem you might be having is that there might be multiple versions of the pc3 file populating the print dialog box on different computers.

In our office we also locate the pc3 files in a folder on the network server. I have found that AutoCAD will populate the pulldown dialog box during the print process with not only the folder specified in the file location settings under Options, but will also include all pc3 files located in sub-folders under the main folder. Check your network folder location for pc3 files to see if you any sub-folders containing similarly named pc3 files.

Good luck!

Acad version(s), OS etc.. more info would be helpful. If you have a mix of software and OS you need to have seperate folders for each.

I am not sure what you mean by a mix of software? My entire office runs on 2009.

Your post did not mention anything about software version(s).

We are all running on the same software. Our office was recently broken into and all of our machines were stolen. Now we are all on brand new Dell Vostros with the exact same software on each machine. If I look at the pc3 file on my machine I am able to see the driver information and when I look on another machine I can not, it tells me that the file is read only? Not sure what that means.

I have seen this problem before where the CAD Manager or the IT department will lock certain directories. If the directory where your pc3 files are located is locked, this could easily be the problem. You obviously don't want every user to have the ability to edit these pc3 files to their every whim and need, so it makes sense to write-protect those files, but you can't lock them from being accessed. I could easily be wrong in this, and I'm sure there are several other things that could be the issue, but I think it's something worth checking out.
