Has anyone gotten this problem before? See screenshot. How do I fix this?
The walls and objects on the drawings and model show the correct fills, but these dialogue boxes are not showing them...

What happens when you open a blank Revit file? Are the patterns showing there? If yes you can try transfering project standards, found under the File menu.

When I start a new project, using the default template, this is what happens. I click on Settings>Fill patterns. That's exactly what I get is what's pictured.
Nobody seems to know what is going on. I even reinstalled Revit. this problem is occuring on one particular computer. I went as far as restore the entire hard drive!! Must be something really strange that I am missing.

This is a shot in the dark, but does that one machine have a different Video Card than the rest?

Also a shot in the dark, does that computer have a different amount of ram in it? Either video card drivers, or a slightly lower amount of ram can cause odd display behavior.

Are you using a laptop with an external monitor plugged in?
This happens to me all the time when training on Revit. If I have a projector plugged in, I will get the same results as your screen shot, but only on the projector, the preview on the screen is fine.

The same thing is now happening to me. Latest Revit build has been reinstalled and all the Fills are still missing from the dialog...
Interestingly, this machine was hooked up to a projector for a couple training demos. Now, the Fill Patterns are not available regardless of any projector hookup...
Do you all think it can be a video driver issue causing these materials to be stripped from a Revit Dialog box..?!
OR can it be a "non-central" file that was shared between two different builds..?
OR can it be a support module that should be reinstalled on the machine..?
Regardless, it is the Revit dialog box that is at fault. As everything else seems to be working on that machine, including the projector.
Another thought...
Have you ever drug this dialogue box to a second monitor? I don't mean a clone as you would have set up for a training session but a second montor that spans across your desktop. I have seen some strange things happen when dialogue boxes have been moved to the second monitor.

Interestingly, I did have a projector hooked up for training purposes, and i did drag the entire Revit application to the second monitor (projector) to display it on the wall...
...So, if there is truth in all this, it would have to be Video driver / RA2009 issue... b/c i always worked like this in 2008 and never had a problem.
If this is the case, can you recommend a way to restore the dialog box..? Or should i just uninstall/reinstall regardless..?

If you have not already, I would send in a support issue on this to Autodesk through your subscription account. They should be able to figure out what is going on, or at least be notified that there is a problem.

FIXED...
After a full uninstall and reinstall did not work, I decided to do what i should have done first, DISCONNECT THE PROJECTOR..!!
Once I disconnected the projector from the PC, the Fill Pattern dialog box returned to functioning order.
The video card is an ATI Fire-GL 3100... or something like that. I am definitely an nVidia fan when it comes to Revit... I guess it is time to search for a new driver.
