Hi all,
we are working on a project as a consultand with an architectural firm.
the situation is this, we have control over the central file and will issue the file to them at the end of every week for assesment. The architect has now produced some detail in the central file and would like these to be used in the project. The issue is we have already done 3 days work and our central file is now ahead of the last one issued.

Is there any way to insert the views created by the architect (essentially using the same model, only older) into our current central file or does the "insert views" only work for 2d elements and drafting views?

IF they are drafting views, it appears that you understand how to get it in. If it is 2D content over top of a section, then you can cut the section in your model and import the 2D information into your section view. If he modeled items, it is much, much tougher to get it in. Now you are stuck with cut-n-paste methodology.

Can you teach them to set up your issued file as a central, with the same pathing, and then create their locals off of that. I have seen a transmitted local sync to an original central in another office, but it is tricky.

It may be time, depending upon the size of the project, to look into something link the Steelhead/Riverbed hardware system, and then the architect can be working in their local file in their office which is directly tied to our central file in your office live.
