Whats your best approach to Door Signage and Room Signage?

Door signage i have inside my door families as Model text or symbolic lines on the doors, with a visibility type parameter to keep track of if its present on that door or not, for the door schedules. It just says "XXX" or something in it, and then in the comments field (instance parameter) i include what it has to say...
