This is the first time I have coordinated with a Structural Engineer in Revit and it is very exciting......But one issue we found.
In our plans we can see the structure ok except the vertical bracing elements do not want to enjoy the party.
The plan cuts through the columns fine and other elements (ie; stairs) but it is not cutting the vertical bracing elements. (HSS on a 45 degree angle). It only shows the vertical bracing from above even though the view range is set at typical architecture settings....

SEE ATTACHED PDF for plan, elevation, view range settings and 3D.

thanks all for reading and future replies.

A collegue in our office came up with the solution;

"If I understand your problem correctly, you would like the bracing members to show only to the point of the cut plane in plan, not the full length?
Assuming that is the case, the issue probably stems from the family category & parameters (assuming the elements are from the "structural framing" category). The parameter that affects this is: "show family pre-cut in plan view". This is checked, by default.
When it is unchecked, it should cut at the cut plane. Be aware: this is a global change. It will affect all structural framing elements of this category in this way.

See the attached images."

I am having the same issue and was very excited to try this solution. Only problem is that when I get to the Family Category and Parameters dialog box for Structural Framing it doesn't show a line item for "show family pre-cut in plan view". Am I in the wrong location?

Thanks,
Amanda
