Hi all, we are working on three associated projects and would like to use a common legend fro all three, thus if it needs to be updated it happens globally.

Is there a way to do this??

Actually, no. There are going to be a number of people jumping on this to say they should. But to reuse these would actually take some other type of view type that does not exist. Legend views were originally created (I believe, IMHO) to display symbols, and families that exist within a single project to add additional annotation to them. As such, there is no way to "reuse" a legend, or save it to file, without saving all of the 3D geometry (and walls, floors items could be hosted to) to a file.

Depending upon what you are trying to use the legend for, consider other means for this. Psooibly linking in a file with specific views that you might need, Note blocks, etc.

We did it manually. Created Drafting View so we could save it and re-insert into another porject.

If I'm reading the question / desire correctly, there is a way to re-use legends easily.

One may copy and paste a legend into a new file. This automatically pulls all of the necessary families represented within the legend into the rvt file.

Just make sure that the scale of the new legend is equal to the original legend.
