Text in Detail Component?

I'm trying to create a Corner Guard symbol (see attached)
It's just a simple L shape that attaches to the corner of two walls.
Seemed like the simplest way to make it was as a Detail Component, but when I do that, the text doesn't show. I'd also like something that would be easier to Rotate, since the rotation point refuses to be an the Insertion Point of the component (wish list item...)

These symbols only show on the Finish Plans, so I really don't want to make a Model family out of it & have to turn it off on a whole bunch of other plans.

Any ideas?

Maybe you would get better results if you made it an Annotation rather than a Detail Component.

The reason I was going with the Detail Component is that I need to be able to flip it so it works on all 4 corners of a square. Rather than making 4 symbols, I figured I could use the flip control, which is not available in the Annotations.

Load a label family of the desired size (or create the desired size first) from the annotation folder into your detail component. Assign a value to it and it should work as you hope.
