View Full Version : Window Sills in RCP views

Hi all,

So I have a window family, where I created a window sill as part of the window family. Please see the attached documents. Everything works great in 3D views and floor plan views.

Unfortunately, in RCP views, the window sill obscures the glazing and the mullions. I believe I understand why... The extrusion that represents the window sill is set to be visible when the window family is cut. I need that setting to be on for Plans but off for RCPs.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Bryan

Yes, Bryan, I have a suggestion:

Edit your family > select the sill object > Properties > change the subcategory to be Sill/Head (sometimes you will notice that the object changes color, but that can be changed under Settings > Object Styles > Sill/Head)

Once you make these adjustments in your family, load it back into the project. In your RCP view, go to Visibility Graphics (VV) > Model Categories > Windows > Uncheck Sill/Head.

This will turn off only that subcategory on that view.

I hope it helps.
