detailing views active in model

i am trying to cut a section in the model and have it refernce a drafting view that has been imported. However, when I check the ref view box and choose drafting view "xxx" the section mark disapears? Any ideas?

Check and make sure that the drafting views properties for discipline are set to "structural"
