i got this error when i opened a drawing,i had 2 dwg's open at the time any tips on what i can try to fix this

you might try using the recover command to open it (with no other drawings open), then if it opens do a -purge on it and remove the regapps. Also, do a scalelistedit command and reset the amount scales associated with the drawing. Both of those can make a drawing huge!

It sounds like a ScaleList thingy again. The problem is that you can't open the drawing to clean it. Try using the CleanupScales utility fron AutoDesk

Hopefully it can do it without having to open ACad entirely. Also, try to set your Windows swap file to something larger (fooling ACad into believing that there's more RAM). If however you're already at max RAM (i.e. 2GB) and running in XP you could set the RAM extend to 3GB ... can't remember exactly how, maybe do a google on this?
Appart from that, try opening the DWG in a Vanilla 2008/9 ... may work as it doesn't load all the extras from MEP.
