Symbolic lines from imported .dwgs

Is there anyway to make lines that are imported from autocad symbolic lines?

I have a site family that is a car and due to the complexity of the 3D model I'm turning it off in 2D views. I have quite a few plan views of cars in autocad so I thought I'd insert one of these as symbolic lines so it would show up in plan but nowhere. But everytime I try to import an autcad block and then explode it in my family, it comes in as model lines - how do I make them symbolic??

Why not leave it in the project as an imported .dwg, rather than exploding it?

You can control it's visibility in any view, and you can assign line colors, weights & styles in settings/object styles.
