I members.

Good news for beginning: I installed "WU3" for Revit Structure 2009 (english version) without problem and quickly... no product reinstallation now.
----------
Bad news: It's not the same for "french version" with "WU3_RST-S2009_FRA.exe" because reinstallation is necessary and more time too.
----------
Is it normal after installation of "WU3" to the menu EXTENSIONS (Q3) disapears in REVIT and another installation will be necessary?
----------
With my AutoDesk subscription acces, I downloaded "revitextensionsrst2009_q4.exe" and "bridge_toolkit_for_revit_structure_2009.zip".
----------
My questions are:

Where download and/or copy the files; C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\RST 2009\..." or "C:\Program Files\Revit Structure 2009\..."??? Do you know the exact places?

For "Bridge Modeling", I see images on Internet for different "Configuration Windows" inside REVIT but I don't know where they are... not in EXTENSIONS menu?

I need help because impossible at this time to use "Q4" and "Bridge Modeling"...

---- Do you use it? Is it functional for you? ----

Thanks!

I write my own answer.

After a good week-end, I maked a clean-up yesterday in my folders and files and finally, I downlaod "revitextensionsrst2009_q4.exe" with my AutoDesk access account... Do I had or not, I don't remember!

I know to had ZIP files, downloaded by Internet (like "bridge_toolkit_for_revit_structure_2009") but not enough information to use it.

This file "revit...exe" uninstall the existing version (Q3) and install "Q4" after, inside "Revit Structure 2009", french version for me, and the BRIDGE Configuration Window by menu EXTENSIONS appears. GOOD!

Problem resolve now but, if I install a last service pack like WU3 after, the menu EXTENSIONS will be inexistant in REVIT.

Is it possible to reload it without anoter installation because always existing (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\REX)???

Thanks!

The reason you lose your extensions with web updates is because the update is not intelligent enough to look at your existing .INI file. It simply blows away whatever modifications have been made and replaces with the default settings.
You can avoid this by creating a copy of your .ini file prior to updating Revit and overriding the one generated during the update process. This will retain all your extension and custom settings.

This is definately something that needs to be addressed in the future, at least give us a warning before resetting or .ini modifications!
The same can be said for keyboard shortcuts...

Your notification was good!

The existing file "Revit.ini" has a very important informations (ex: Extensions menu, personalised Path) and it's a very good idea to make a "copy" before installing an update of Revit Structure 2009; reinstallation for French version.

After "reinstallation" of Revit (French version tested) the "Revit.ini" will be new and without copy of your existing file, you will lose informations.

With your "copy", it's easy to recuperate the important informations like this exemple:

[ExternalApplications]
EACount=1
EAClassName1=REX.AREXRevitStart.AREXRevitStart
EAAssembly1=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\REX\Revit 2009\AREXRevitStart.dll
EAName1=AREXRevitStart
EADescription1=Add menu and toolbar dedicated to Revit Extensions
[ExternalCommands]
ECCount=1
ECClassName1=REX.AREXRevitMngr.Manager
ECAssembly1=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\REX\Revit 2009\AREXRevitMngr.dll
ECName1=Revit Extensions for Revit Structure 2009
ECDescription1=Manager for Revit Extensions for Revit Structure 2009

After recuperation, not necessary to reinstall the menu "Extensions" because exists in your computer & now, functionnal in Revit like a previous version.

Thanks!
