I am working on a map showing county parcel lines (this is a shape file taken from the county website). I am showing an aerial, the couthy parcel line and some original linework. My problem is the size of the shape file is way too large. I am showing parcel lines for the hole county and i only need parcels for a few hundres acres.
How can I edit the georeferenced parcels (shape file) and erase what i do not need.
Once the shape file is in my drawing how do i make them into CAD polylines?
I hope someone can help! Thanks

If you are wanting the shp file objects as polylines then use the mapimport command and not the FDO data connect. You can import the features and create an object data table for the attributes also when you inmport you can use the spatial option located in the import dialog box.

After you do this draw a polyline around the area your working in. Then use MAP=>TOOLS=>BOUNDARY TRIM. You'll be able to select the boundary and have it trim out any line work the goes outside this boundary. Then just erase the remaining line work that is left outside the boundary.
