View Full Version : Movable duct connection on AHU plenum - possible?

The AHU family I am building has a built-in plenum that allows the installer some flexibility as to where exactly they connect the supply duct on the plenum face. I don't see a way to have dimensions drive the location of the connection. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

To make this easy, I first create a small solid form to host the connector. This could be either an extrusion or a void. Then I usually create two dimensional parameters that control the horizontal and vertical distances from said extrusion to a reference plane.

If your connector is attached to the solid form, and you can move the location of the solid form with a few parameters, you'll be able to change the location where the duct or pipe connects to the equipment.

Also, I always name these parameters as "offsets" so that I don't get them confused with other dimensions. If I have two parameters that control the horizontal and vertical placement of a pipe connector, I will name them "Pipe Offset 1" and "Pipe Offset 2."
