Summary: The ability to select and/or not select certain types of objects when using a crossing window for selection. The ability to ignore objects like hatches, blocks, etc, while making this selection

Description: I would like to have a function in autocad, which would skip selecting hatches, blocks or other objects, when selecting with a cross window.
I imagine it could easily be done like this: for instance, i would have to hold some key combination like crtl+shift while selecting objects with a cross window, and the selection would skip hatches or any other objects, that i would like not to be selected. The command could have an icon like object snap, polar etc, and there i would be able to specify the objects that will not be selected while using the said command.

How Used: It would greatly benefit anyone who ever made a complex autocad drawing using several hatches, to graphically augment an architectural project, i believe that pretty much everyone does that.

Feature Affinity: Hatch

Why not simply lock the layer the hatches are on?

I'd expect the time taken to pick the function and set the requirements would likely outweigh any time saved.

I expect that FILTER works very well in this regard.
Try setting up a FILTER that excludes the objects you do not wish to select and then apply with a Window Crossing.
