I'll second that (the centreline that is, not the snicker...).
And as an addendum, can we have someway of setting the offset of rectangular ductwork to indicate the bottom edge? Who needs to know where the centreline is?
I need to check the underside of a 375 deep duct that's 2015 from centreline to floor. Now, hang on...half of 375 is...I think that's 187.5. So take that off 2015 which is....give me a minute....15 off 187 is 172, so take that off 2000...and that's ummmm...1828...add the 0.5...No, I'd better check this. Now where's that damn calculator.

I'll second that (the centreline that is, not the snicker...).The snicker was in response to the wish coming from another thread where the OP discovered that in the US we usually don't show centerlines on round duct unlike the rest of the world, so of course the software can't do it.
I do believe the wish to be a valid one.

....and don't forget to take into account the insulation thickness Ian! Now, is it 25mm or 50mm?

Rob - Yeah, I'd caught that earlier. It wasn't meant to be a poke at you...
Mike - The hell with it: 'The documentation as issued is to be considered as design intent only and the mechanical contractor is to make all allowances as necessary for clearances between all services and building structure with due consideration being given to insulation thickness whether indicated on drawing or not'.

Rob - Yeah, I'd caught that earlier. It wasn't meant to be a poke at you...No problem, I didn't take it that way. But I did consider, after you post, that new readers to the thread might not know why I snickered. So a bit of explanation was in order for others.

As well as the circular duct centrelines mentioned elsewhere, of course it goes without saying that we need to display centrelines in pipework too, where the pipe is represented in it's full width (ie, not just a single line)

Put a center line in everything if you want but we need to control the visibility of the centerline. I may want it off in a square duct but on in a round duct. I may want it on in a big pipe and off in a small pipe.
Please!
