Is there a reason why some objects aren't being cut on a plan view?
I've got some almost vertical beams in my model and some get cut and some don't in a floor plan view. They are made of the exact same family, settings, etc. Sometimes if i change the family type to another and then I change it back again and the beams are suddenly cut, but sometimes this doesn't work. I can't find any reason why some are cut and some don't.

I mean cut in the sense that they are completely shown (from top to bottom) and do not respect the "cut plane" setting under view range, I don't want to physically trim them.

try to see in the family editor how diffrent types are related to "cut plane" setting under view range (in the family). if you see some differences try to move the cut plane to cut all types and then try to update the family in the project.

give it a try. i`m not sure if this is aplicable to your case but never know :) ....

Your problem may be related to what I would consider a "bug" in some of Revit's structural families:
Open the structural beam or column family and under "Settings>Family Categories and Parameters", uncheck the radio box named "Show family pre-cut in plan view". This solved a number of invisible column problems we've had. Give it a try . . .

this parameter is not available to structural framing.
