Hey all!
I am having a problem that I don;t know how to fix... I have several drawings that I use daily and there are certian layers in each drawing, that are different in each, that seem to "section" the viewport instead of showing the model as a whole. It seems like there is a cut plane a couple of inches, or a few feet depending on the drawing, in front of me as i navigate. But when I freeze those layers, the model returns to normal. Is there a setting somewhere that can fix this issue?

Could it be wipeouts in an AutoCAD drawing?

A "Wall of Erasure" appears around the navigation point when the video card cannot keep up with Navisworks. As you have noted, hiding unecessary objects can help. Closing the file and reopening sometimes helps. Restarting Navisworks sometimes helps too. I suspect that a better video card is a more permanent solution.
Navisworks provides some control under Tool>Global Options>Interface>Display
Hardware Acceleration helps if your video card supports it.
Occlusion Culling turns off all objects that are not in the field of view.
Guarantee Frame Rate maintains navigation speed. When navigation stops, then details are filled in.

Then why won't (in my case) the erased objects reappear when you stop navigating?
I have had this happen on a few files for unknown reasons. Further it is not tied to file or combined file size.
I narrowed it down to one trade file in my instance, and if I used that file elsewhere the problem came with the file.....

I am wondering if it is an object enabler issue? Objects are there, but unable to be represented because Navisworks does not know what they are...There have been some issues with CAD Pipe and Workx for instance...Sorry I cannot be of more help in this case.

I have had that same issue. It will take a day or two to remember what it was. I think it was the lines or circles etc. that caused it (try turning off line conversion in dwg files). It continued to be a problem for me as I needed to see the autocad lines.
The distance of the erasure changed with which direction I was looking to. Eg. looking north 5 metres, looking south 1 metre.

I believe that this is not a Guarantee Frame Rate issue.
Pipecad/Ductcad files were involved when I experienced the problem. However, _all_ objects within a sphere of several feet from the navigation point were "sectioned"
The "Sectioning Sphere" only appeared after navigating around the model for a while. The fact that the problem appeared during a review session, and not on open, led me to suspect a memory issue.

I think this is an issue with the near and far clip plane settings, under Tools -> File options. I run into the same problem once or twice a year, and can never remember what I did to fix it. I *think* it may have something to do with the source file.
I had some issues with navigating a while back. After tweaking some settings I was able to resolve my problem.
Try this:
From the TOOLS pull-down menu, select "File Options". Set your furthest distance to '1' and your closest distance to '99999'.
Now, from the VIEWPOINT pull-down menu, select "Edit Current Viewpoint" and verify your camera and motion settings.
I have attached a screenshot of my settings for this. The particular settings to look at are;
The Vertical Field of View = 45 degrees
The Linear Speed = 100
The Angular Speed= 45
