View Full Version : Live Details slows Performance

I was curious if this is normal behavior. We are migrating to use live Revit details as well as Revit Drafting views exsclusively and have found the detail sheet with the live details is very slow to respond to commands. Simple commands, like panning, zooming, Activate View, etc.

Is there a way to improve this performance or change a setting to speed this up?

I do not believe it's our computers, the 'oldest' has 4gb ram, FireGL3600 and dual 3.0 Xeon processors with XP 32-bit.

I think it is probably just a lot of graphics to process on one sheet. Make sure you have turned off all unnecessary 3d objects in each view and adjusted the view depth so you're not seeing more of the model than necessary for the detail. Also, do you have any raster images or ACAD imports loaded into any of the views? These can sometimes slow you down.

Make sure you don't have any CAD files in any of your drafting or detail views.

We only use Revit for ALL drawings and I haven't had any problems lately, drafting/detail views or otherwise.

Could try OpenGL on -- sometimes it helps that kind of thing.

If the project is fairly large it can happen yes. You need to manage the Display Model properties wisely
