Question on using a dwg as a background

I typically bring in 2D AutoCAD drawings from clients to model in Revit. I run into a problem when i build the walls over the DWG, i can no longer see the window locations on the AutoCAD background. Is there an easy fix to this?

I usually change the imported linework to a bright strong color ( magenta for example ) and also use a wireframe display.
