View Full Version : Taking beams or columns out of the drop down menu

hello !
I have loaded to many beams and columns in to my drop down box and now it is a pain trying to search through every1.
is the a way of removing some of the beams ?

file>purge unused
click on check none so that you don't delete something that you might one to keep and then pick what you want to delete

There are a couple of ways to accomplish this:
1) Project Browser - towards the bottom of browser expand Families > Structural Columns and/or Structural Framing. Then expand the individual Families under these Categories to see all of the Types. At this point simply select the Types you no longer want and delete them.
2) Purge Unused - File > Purge Unused. Important note: I highly recommend selecting the Check None button before proceeding. By default everything is checked and there are several items you will miss if you just hit OK. Now that nothing is checked you can selectively expand the items and check the specific things you would like to get rid of.
