Hey is anyone else having trouble with editing lineweights with the lineweight tool when dealing with linked RVTs? We've got a file where two buildings are linked onto a shared site, and we want to beef up/change some of the linewieghts to make the 3D axon view 'punch'. But Revit's not letting us select any of the lines within the linked models with the lightweight tool, as well as not snapping detail line to them either. Both of these techniques work fine with non-linked objects. Is this something I just missed that you can't do?
thanks

I just checked this with one of my linked models and confirm that you cannot use the linework tool or the detail line align tool on linked models.
I can understand the philosophy that linked files are primarily to study campus arrangements of a site, and therfore not all functions are accessable. However, one of the primary objectives of these site studies would surely be to produce 3D studies/ renderings. So it seems strange that these basic graphic tools are not available.
Anyone from Autodesk, please feel free to comment.
In the meantime, you can obviously "shop" the render to get a result, although I realise thats not what you want.

I'll jump on the tail of this thread as its a closely linked problem.
I've done a project with 3 townhouses (separate files) linked into a site drawing.
My lineweight overrides from the 3 source files aren't being displayed in the site drawing, particularly roof joints that I've made invisible in the townhouse files are now showing up.
Can anyone offer any advise.
Regards,
Kim
