Trying to edit materials

Can someone tell me how to change the scale of materials applied? I have 6" wood shake on my roof and it's way too small in my 1/4" scaled drawing. When I open the material to edit, the scale is greyed out.

I think you would have to create a custom pattern by importing the same .pat file and specifying a different scale when importing.

Also, the wood shake pattern is a model pattern, so its orientation is dependent on its host. If your roof has a slope, especially if a high slope, the "shake overlap" lines of the pattern will be closer together in plan view than if you were viewing from a perpendicular perspective.
