Existing Walls

I am currently working on drawing and existing floor plan in Revit Architecture 2009. Is there a way to allow the default setting for drawing walls, doors, windows, etc. as existing instead of drawing a new element and then having to manually convert it to the existing phase?

Yes, it depends on the Phase of the view you are drawing them in. Create a new floor plan, and set its Phase to Existing, and Its Phase Filter to Show All. Now, because youre in the EXISTING phase, when you model objects in that view they will be Existing...
