AutoCAD MEP 2008. Just as the title says, in the image the transition and the round takeoff's aren't accepting an applied material. can it be done or are there some objects that won't allow it? Thanks in advance. :)

I don't know much about MEP, but could you tell me what you've tried so far? Are your objects blocks? Are they 3D solids? Mass Element? Give me a little info and I'll see if I can help you from there.

they are parametric-based AEC MvParts if this helps you at all.

I haven't played with them much either, but I believe they are sim to slabs or mass element. They may be considered more of a mesh though.
Any chance you could post your sample for us to play with?

For the record, I'm wanting to render a scene for our General Contractor. We are coordinating weekly meetings with all the other trades using NavisWorks to run clash detection for each weekly update/revision. I have all my mechanical in place, and would like to render the a few scenes. This is why I'm after this task. :)

Again, I don't know squat about MEP, so I talked to one of my mechanical guys and we layed out some duct work with a "take-off" and also could not get it to take a material. So we went throught the system, found that part and tried to apply a material in the actual part drawing. It was there that we were able to apply a material to it. So my guess is there is something being lost in translation. I would see if you can apply the material that you are trying to use in your drawing to that part in the part drawing and bringing it back in. Good luck and please let me know what you find.
