New Line Styles in Families

Is there a way to create new line styles within families. It seems i only have the option of using the lines they provide. When i try to go to settings- line styles is greyed out. I cant copy from project to family either. Any suggestions?

You can go to the family's object styles and create a new subcategory. This will give you a new model and symbolic line with line style, color, and weight settings for projection and cut.
