Hello, I have been learning about Revit, and have come across an older book about revit (Introduction to Autodesk Revit Building 8 ) and have started on an Office Building Plan, but the problem is for some reason, every time I get done with the first floors outer walls, the measurements get messed up. The walls actually change their measurement.
The following things were turned on when I was making the walls:
Wall Style: Basic Wall: Generic 12"
Height: Unconnected
Height: 36' 0"
Loc Line: Finish Face; Exterior
If anyone could help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you saying that the length reported within the wall properties has changed or that the wall geometry itself has changed?
If you are referring to the length within the properties it likely has to do with your wall joins. When your walls join they join center point to center point. For instance if you have four 12" walls in a square that is 20'x20' to the outside face, each of your walls would report in the properties that they are 19' long (because 1/2 of the 12" wall is being taken out at each end of each wall. If you change those walls to 6" walls, the length will report as 19'-6" for each wall.
If your actual wall geometry is changing that is a bit more puzzling. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is related to your choosing the outside face of finish. If you were to add a 7/8" layer of gyp onto the outside face of your 12"concrete wall this would shift your walls 7/8" into the interior. To avoid this issue you would use outside face of core.
If it is something else, you could post some screen shots to help us understand the issue.

I believe it is the first of the two. When I actually go to dimension it, It will say the same thing I typed in, but excludes the part of the wall joins. Thanks for the help.
