Hi All,

I have a couple of niggling installation problems with 2010.

Everything seemed to install ok - no error messages.

Firstly, on Start up of Revit, I get the attached error message at the end of the splash screen. Clicking through, Revit will start up OK and everything seems to work (rendering included). From time to time however, this error message will re-appear.

Secondly, when loading a component (or indeed loading a project), and if I attempt to change the view from list to icons Revit wants to install something it cannot find. A small routine starts up where it attempts to load installation files, is unable to find them and then simply quits. Again Revit will continue normally unless I try to view families or projects in any other view than list.

I have sent a support request, but maybe one of the Beta testers may be able to shed some light.

Cheers

Ian

PS First impressions - not too bad, I like the fact that one can hide the ribbon and get some more vertical screen real estate. Is much faster in 3d with shadows on. The ribbon itself is absolutely horrible (imho) but it will mean that it will force us to be better at keyboard short cuts ;-)

i cant speak for the first error message, but the second one is from ArchVision, the content manager for the RPC content in Revit. it seems like maybe they dont have an updated content manager for Revit 2010 with the installation. You may check the ArchVision website

Thanks azmz3,

I had had a look at Archvisions website, however I was unable to locate anything of assistance. Not being a subscriber of Archvision individually, I was unable to request a support request from them.

Cheers,

Ian

Had the same problem (but not with every installation?) and solved it by downloading the free "Archvision Content Manager" from here:

The first message states that the installation is not completely done. Pop the DVD and point to it and see if it resolves the issue.
Did you install WU1?

Thanks All for the advice. I got it sorted some time back by doing a clean install from the dvd & everything works fine.

Thanks

Ian
