I am trying to create a column that is angled in 3D dimension, using generic model family. so, the column runs in a box from a left/front bottom corner to a right/back top corner.

I could create a column sloping in elevation but not in 3D dimension.

Help me.

If you can wait till 2010 is released (less than 2 week) then the in built families will allow sloped columns.

I would personally use a beam in the current version, rather than creating a new family.

Unless it is only symbolic lines that you have sloping, the 3d should be angled if the elevation is, and without the family posted, it is very hard to determine why it isn't working for you.

I have no idea what you mean by space diagonal line...

Sloped columns will be available in 2010, and apparently release is 16th this month.

If you need it before the release, I suggeest a beam with differring start and end levels, after you offset a beam from it's original insertion, you can align it to a ref plane or line
