View Full Version : Dimensioning a Cylinder?

So, I was recently making a ships ladder for a roof step on a project, and went to detail the ladder, and couldn’t dimension to the hand rail that I had created with a swept circle. There were no points, no edge point, no center of cylinder point, nothing, so I had to dimension lifework over the top of the railing in the detail. Did I miss something or is this just not possible? Kind of frustrating.

Put a reference plane in there and itll let you dimension to the reference plane. I dont think you can dimension to the tangent of a curved object in section/elevation, but i DO know that it used to Fatal Error the program, circa 2008...
