I am trying to create a pocket door family by placing 2 voids on either sides of the wall to represent the "pocket" of the doors to slide back into.
I have attempted it, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Try making the cut as a one piece extrusion, with the first portion being the depth of the wall x the width of the door opening and the second part being the pocket that the door panel slides into.

Have a look at the pocket door families on RUGI. I think they were made that way.

Hi
I think that this might be an explanation /solution to your problem : A standard opening in a family template host is a simple Opening. You want a complex opening by adding voids and the trouble is that openings and voids cannot both exist in the same host. So you first need to delete the existing opening supplied with the family template Then use a Void and Cut Geometry to place your complex opening.
let me know if it worked for you?

I browsed through RUGI's doors and found a pair of pocket doors. Evidently they created the opening for the doors and pockets by creating one void extrusion. Thanks for your help.
