hello everyone,

im running Autocad LT 2005 and i modified the dim style to have a text size of 3", but it changed all the dim texts to something larger and i can't do anything to change it now.

while im here i got a couple of other questions :P

- why does the plotter not save the window i print, in 2002 whatever the setting were of the last print job were saved so didnt have to set everything EVERYTIME i try printing.

- what is revit?

any help to solve this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Shawn

Hi

Dim Text Height - Can you please post the drawing file here so we can take a look.

In future it would best for everyone if you could please post one question per thread, makes it a lot easier to follow along.

Plot - Take a look at "use last successful plot settings" on the Plot and Publish tab within the Options Dialog Box

OR

Within the Plot Dialog Box under the Page Setup drop-down box take a look at <Previous Plot>

Revit - Autodesk Revit (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=3781831)

Have a good one, Mike

anytime I deal with text, I set the text style to a height of 0, and just change it within the drawing as needed. different strokes for different folks...

hey mike,
ok the problem of the dimension text not changing in size has arisen again. this time i have attached the drawing

in properties i have tried to change the height to 24" and the text is said to be at this height, but in the drawing it isn't
i did this also in the dim manager, but again no dim text have changed

i hope this helps you to help me :)
thanks.

What I believe the problem is is that the text height under your text style is set to 8. Set your text height under your text style (type STYLE at command line) and your problem should be solve. You will also have to update your dimensions (dimupdate)

Thanks brenda! it worked!!!!

not that im really concerned about it, but is there a reason why the dim text cant be set without having to change the text height from the text manager? like if i wanted each dim to have different text heights then what?

thanks again.

I don't really know the answer to why it is that way. What you can do if you want some text to be bigger is to override it, or create a different dimension style. Yep, I know, a pain, but you would have to change something no matter what in order to have dim text two different sizes.

Glad I could help. :-)
