this slab and turn down are both the same material (cast-in-place concrete) why is the turn down showing as a lighter line weight? Thanks.

Check Visibilty Graphics. Sounds like you've got an overrde in Floors>Slab Edges.

Did you by any chance use the edit cut profile tool? I've noticed that the tool creates some often undesirable lineweight issues - like showing the the heavy line in the middle of your slab. If this is the case for you, it will likely require the additional use of detail lines.

Or, maybe the join geometry tool would help? Just some thoughts; I've not used slab edges in any of my projects so far.

Settings > Object Styles > Check the lineweight values for Slab Edges versus the regular Floors...
