separating slabs

I roughed in one slab for the whole floor, but it's actually several floors with different thicknesses. When I edit the slab and separate them that are still the same floor. Can I split these or will I have to erase one and redraw it? Thanks.

You can't split a slab.

I usually copy the slab on top of itself, then edit one of them, copy its boundary to the clipboard, then paste-in-place those lines into the boundary of the other floor to make it line up.
