There is a significant slown down on my system when using r7.0.
I have pentium 4 3.06 mhz with 2 gb ram and my file is about 10mb and the system takes a few seconds in each operation. Any others noticing this?
Thanks

I was about to write the same thing. I have a dual AMD 2200+ with 1gig of ram and a 128mb nvidia graphics card. It also seems to get slower the longer revit is running.

I'd a reboot, defrag, closed everything else down and even a drop back and punt(can't think of anything else)
My system does this also?

With Open GL enabled everything seems normal here. Graphic card ATI Radeon 9200 SE

Similar - slow response - here as well. Very noticeable.

I too experienced the same when I opened Revit 7 for the first time. I clicked on 'Walls' and the system took about 15 seconds to launch the tool and it took another 5 seconds for the 'Option Bar' to show the options. I am running XP with 3Ghz and 1GB Ram......etc

I am not too willing to upgrade my current project to Revit 7 unless couple issues outlined in the forum i.e.

1. Slow system response,
2. Grid bubble changing the ends
3. Shadow not showing up properly in Hidden line mode
3. Disappearance of 'Blue dot' while editing the 'drafting lines' to 'invisible lines' , etc.

are looked into by the development team. Being an implementation guy, I cannot face the users here if they find their project files go 'haywire' by upgrading to Revit 7.0.

Try closing and reopening the view - does it help?

I also have noticed even command like Tape Measure take a second to highlight. I also am using a NVIDIA Quadro4 700 XGL.

I was wondering if it is the video care and how do you find out if NVIDIA has an updated driver? Revit is not listed on the NVIDIA site as an option for drivers. They list Autocad, Inventor, and 3ds.

No probs here in running the app.
Definite slow when shadows are on, prob. to be expected.
Printing a shaded set of elevations was painfully slow on my hp 500 (process time/spooling, raster on) But, they did come out really nice.

elsewise, the app has not hampered me at all.

It is probably the new option under Options->Graphics about "using overlay planes to improve performance".

Uncheck that and open the file again. It helped in my case. This option is not helpful for all video cards and can be worse for older ones.
